February’s Mindful Strategy of the Month

January’s topic is
time sucks
.

A time suck is "an activity to which one devotes a lot of time that might be better or more productively spent doing other things."

Sound familiar? We’ve all got them! Whether or not you have ADHD. Common time sucks are social media (TikTok is toooo fun for me), phone games, video games, etc

This month's Mindful Strategy is:
be intentional with how
you want to feel time pass
.

Time sucks make time feel like it’s going by very quickly - this is true for those with and without time blindness. Other activities might make time pass more slowly: meditating, deep breathing, stretching, etc.

In a moment when you feel yourself in a time suck, think to yourself, "Do I want time to go by quickly right now?"

If you have a stomach ache and want time to go quickly to start feeling better, go ahead and stay in the time suck! However, if you don't want time to fly by...maybe it's time to disconnect.
